My father was a homebuilder. But when I was young, I was absolutely sure that swinging a hammer for a living would never, ever be my destiny. Then, just after graduating from college, I discovered that destiny can change your life’s course. My father got Parkinson’s disease, so I had to help him with his construction business.
That quickly lead to the discovery that destiny, combined with hard work, can create a more wonderful life than what you might ever expect. As it turned out, I liked building homes and buying real estate, and I did my best at it. In return, I ended up being well-rewarded financially.
Recently, destiny has once again taken me somewhere unexpected. My wife and I have seven children, one of whom we adopted from Calcutta, India. While visiting her homeland, I happened upon an expert in the medicinal and nutritional qualities of thousands of Asian plants and herbs. In passing, he told me about a fruit called seabuckthorn, which grew high in the Himalayas.
Who would’ve guessed that a chance encounter would lead to a fruit that would change my life? Certainly not me. I would’ve never imagined myself many thousands of feet above sea level, in perhaps the most mysterious place in the world, scaling mountainsides to remote Tibetan villages in search of seabuckthorn. Nor would I have ever guessed that I would be called upon to introduce to the world what is perhaps the most balanced nutritional fruit on the planet.
But here I am. I feel I have been guided in the discovery of this incredible fruit, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to introduce seabuckthorn to the modern world. But most importantly, I’m pleased to pass along the good fortune of Sibu directly to you.
